Classmates

Here's a place to put your picture from 'back in the day' and one that looks like you now!  Pen a little bit about yourself so we all can reminisce with you.

Comment: 3 years ago, this coming September, my French- lady companion of 21 years, died of cardiac and dementia complications. I moved twice in the 10 months after that. Presently, I am still in high school!!!  I did my last days for 2016-17 SY at WAHS and DHS in Allentown this week.  I've been averaging 100 days per year, these past 7 years. I greatly miss my constant daily contact with/dealing in  the French language: visits, meetings, phone calls, and daily conversation, laced with cliches or literary quotes that provide humour and 'le mot juste'.  My frequent contact with  French literature has dropped off, largely and regretfully: plays, novels, opera, short stories, fables, songs, poems. Trying to hang on, I hold French fable, poetry and song reading/singing seminars for  retirees at Cedar Crest College for the past 2 years.  On a day's notice, in Spring of 2009, I finished a night, advanced for- credit, Spanish Civilization course for CCC.  I did some adjunct work before that at area CC's - the pits! Subbing in the schools though, is fun. We all feel appreciated by the schools.  As of last year, I finished choral singing stints in 2 Saengerbund choruses, 6 1/2 years with one and 3 years wtih the other. For the past 3 years I sing with the senior chorus in Allentown, Broadway and Americana stuff. I play clairinet with LV Pops orchestra for the past 5 years. I had come out of my grieving period over a year ago. I am now a companion to an Austrian native and longtime American. We dance to Austrian music and at senior citizen dances each week. We go on day bus trips when possible.  The average age, for all of these venues, seems to be 80-plus years. I take line-dancing for the past 13 years.. What will I be when I grow/go up? God  knows... Note:  In 'Guestbook"I misspelled the word 'collage', an art gift that I had inquired about. Also, this was rather a sculpted bas relief, that had attempted to represent images for that time and place, e.g,  LHS '67.

Comment:

Accept the things

To which fate binds you and

Love the people with whom fate

Brings you together

But do so with all your heart.

Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today. And if you like it today you can do it again tomorrow.

Occupation: semi-retired
Comment:  Been married four times but Gail and I have been together twenty-five years and we have known each other since childhood. We have four children and eight grandkids between us. We lived for many years at our cottage on the Delaware River at Foul Rift. We had forty inches of water in the house three times between 2004 and 2006 . Oh well, GOD was just telling us it was time to remodel. We are both semi-retired and I still do antique car restoration services. I was operated on for lung cancer in 2010. Only one minor problem.... I didn't have lung cancer ! I have been seeing what is called a facereader ever since and he has restored my health through diet and herbs. Have taken over fifty people to see him including some former classmates and he has improved everybody's health. The reunion was great and enjoyed seeing many classmates who I didn't recognize till I saw their nametag. Just wish more classmates had been there. Hope to see you at the 55th.
